ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
Safe Exit Initiative (SEI) is a survivor-led nonprofit organization where survivors of systems of prostitution and allies collaborate to provide support to victims and survivors of the sex trade — populations that are routinely neglected and marginalized by society. Our mission is to provide quality exit services and support to prostituted individuals. We have developed a comprehensive approach to accomplishing our mission, which includes advocacy for social change and justice for survivors; leading legislative initiatives at the national, state, and local levels; providing training and consulting services to community-based partners such as medical providers, social service agencies, and law enforcement; and developing and delivering education and outreach services for community members and academic institutions.


OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY CASE MANAGEMENT
We are seeking a Community Outreach and Case Management Specialist to join our team at Safe Exit Initiative (SEI) in Springfield, MA. This role is crucial in connecting individuals with resources and support as they navigate their journeys. The Community Outreach and Case Management Specialist plays a key role in advancing SEI’s mission by building community partnerships and promoting our programs.

This role also provides case management and mentoring for individuals with a history of commercial sexual exploitation. The Community Outreach and Case Management Specialist provides linkage to relevant community-based resources and is responsible for providing warm handoffs to partner organizations and, when necessary, assisting survivors in advocating for the services and supports they need.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify individuals in the community in need of support and connect them to relevant resources, programs, and services while advocating when needed
• Provide case management services
• Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, community interactions, and referrals
• Provide leadership, advocacy, and mentorship within the community
• Provide crisis intervention services as needed
• Provide guidance regarding different pathways to recovery while remaining accepting of a variety of recovery, exiting, and harm reduction approaches
• Complete all required documentation by the end of each shift
• Attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and supervision as assigned
• Collaborate with community partners and other agencies to identify and maintain case management needs
• Perform any other tasks assigned by management


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Lived experience preferred, but not required
• Bilingual candidates preferred
• Ability to apply independent judgment and determine appropriate courses of action, including during emergency situations
• Personal interest in and commitment to working with people impacted by CSE
• Flexible and positive attitude with belief in the healing and recovery process
• Possess cultural sensitivity and adaptability to various personalities and backgrounds
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Active and valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
• Must be proactive, solutions-driven, and able to apply problem-solving techniques to a variety of situations
• Must be committed to guiding guests in creating their own individualized recovery and exit plans with unconditional positive regard
• Must provide flexibility with program scheduling and organizational needs, including weekends
• Must have an open-minded approach to all forms of recovery, especially MAR
• Must have a basic understanding of the trauma-related impacts of CSE


NOTE
Hourly Wage: $24–26/hour
